Homemade Chocolate Shell

Chocolate, I think that this is my daughters favourite word and I have to admit that I am quite fond of it as well.  Ice cream, there is another word that we like around here too.  When we want a little treat that takes only a few minutes to make, I lean on this recipe.  Just a few ingredients mixed together and you have a chocolate sauce that hardens when it is poured on top of ice cream.  Mix and match this sauce with your favourite ice cream and toppings for a delicious treat.  Today I decided to pour it on top of some chocolate ice cream and sweet frozen cherries.

Homemade Chocolate Shell

Makes enough for 4 sundaes

1 tablespoon of coconut oil
1/4 cup of chopped chocolate or chocolate chips

Melt the coconut oil in the microwave on high, about 1 minute.  Stir in the chocolate until it is fully melted and smooth.  Pour on top of your favourite ice cream, frozen yogurt or even dip frozen pieces of fruit into it.  Enjoy!
